Fresh Light Snowfall Recorded at Sinthan Top, Temperatures Drop in South Kashmir

Fresh light snowfall was recorded at Sinthan Top, which connects Kishtwar with Anantnag, during the early morning hours on Saturday, officials said.

The snowfall has brought a drop in temperatures across nearby areas, including Daksum and Kokernag, adding to the winter chill in South Kashmir.

Officials said the road was being monitored and traffic was moving smoothly, with no immediate disruption reported.

The upper reaches of South Kashmir have been experiencing intermittent light snowfall as winter conditions gradually set in across the region.

Sinthan Top is an important mountain pass linking the Anantnag district of Kashmir Valley with Kishtwar in the Jammu region. Fresh snowfall at the pass often brings colder conditions and can affect road travel if the weather deteriorates.

Travellers planning to use the route are advised to follow official traffic advisories and check road conditions before setting out.
