A teacher from Kashmir’s Lolab Valley has attracted attention for reportedly covering the complete Class 10 mathematics syllabus in just 11 hours, 28 minutes and 58 seconds.

Tahir Ahmad, from Dorusa village in Lolab, north Kashmir, completed the extensive syllabus in a single teaching session. The feat highlights the preparation, subject knowledge and time management required to explain a large amount of mathematical content within a limited period.

A demanding classroom challenge

Class 10 mathematics covers a wide range of topics, requiring teachers to explain concepts, demonstrate methods and work through problems. Delivering this material in less than 12 hours requires careful planning and a structured approach.

Ahmad’s reported performance has also brought attention to the educational efforts of a teacher from a village in north Kashmir. For students preparing for examinations, it offers an example of how a well-organised revision session can help bring a large syllabus together.

However, covering a syllabus in one sitting is different from mastering every topic. Students still need time to practise questions, revise formulas and develop a deeper understanding of difficult concepts.

Other educators have undertaken lengthy teaching sessions. Guinness World Records also lists a 31-hour, 42-minute and 54-second mathematics lesson delivered by Sanusi Kazeem of Nigeria on 12 April 2025. Separately, India Book of Records reports that Shiksha Nation conducted a 126-hour-and-15-minute online teaching class in February 2026, covering Grade 10 subjects including mathematics. https://indiabookofrecords.in/longest-online-teaching-class-conducted-by-an-institute

These cases involve different formats and criteria, so they are not direct comparisons with Ahmad’s reported completion of the Class 10 mathematics syllabus. His specific claim has not been independently verified as a national or world record. Nevertheless, it places his work within a broader tradition of educators undertaking ambitious teaching sessions.
