BGSBU Rajouri Begins Week-Long Health and Wellness Workshop Under Gen-Z Nasha Mukt Campaign

The workshop has been organised by the University Health Centre to promote healthy lifestyles, physical and mental well-being, preventive healthcare and positive engagement among students.

Vice Chancellor Prof. Jawaid Iqbal welcomed the initiative and said health and wellness are important for the overall development of students. He encouraged students to make healthy lifestyle choices and take part in activities that support their well-being.

Dean Academic Affairs Prof. Titi Xavier also highlighted the importance of health and wellness in student life. Registrar Shri Ravi Kumar Sihag, IAS, extended his best wishes for the successful conduct of the workshop and appreciated the University Health Centre’s efforts to raise awareness about healthy and responsible lifestyles.

Dr. Zaheer Abbas, Incharge of the University Health Centre, delivered the welcome address and spoke about preventive healthcare, healthy habits and the need to create a supportive environment for students.

Speaking at the programme, Dr. Shams Kamal Anjum, Chairman of the Committee, stressed the need for continued efforts to promote health, wellness and a drug-free lifestyle among young people. He encouraged students to actively participate in the workshop.

Dr. Shreekar Pant delivered an informative session on health and wellness, focusing on healthy habits and informed lifestyle choices.

The first day also included indoor sports and recreational activities coordinated by Ms. Reeba Wani, who anchored the programme. The activities gave students an opportunity to take part in healthy recreation, teamwork and physical activities.

The workshop will continue until October 2, 2026, with expert sessions, wellness activities and indoor sports. The valedictory function will be held on October 2.

The programme is part of BGSBU’s efforts to encourage healthy, responsible and drug-free lifestyles among young people.
