Mehbooba Mufti has said that senior leaders linked to the Bharatiya Janata Party reached the doorstep of Syed Ali Shah Geelani during the PDP-BJP coalition government in Jammu and Kashmir.

Alliance Was Not for Power, Says Mufti
The Peoples Democratic Party president said the coalition was not formed for power, but to protect Article 370 and create a path for dialogue in Kashmir.
She argued that her government worked to reduce tensions and encourage political engagement.
Claim of Talks With Separatists
Mehbooba Mufti said efforts were made to engage separatist leaders, including initiatives that brought top Indian leadership close to Geelani.
Her remarks referred to attempts for dialogue during a difficult political period in the region.
Youth Release and Peace Measures
She also claimed that around 12,000 young people were released from jails during her tenure.Mufti said these steps were taken to build trust and reduce unrest.
