Omar Abdullah Highlights J&K’s Strengths

Addressing the summit, the Chief Minister highlighted Jammu and Kashmir’s educated youth, leading academic institutions, competitive operating costs, improved connectivity and quality of life as key advantages for attracting global businesses.

He said Global Capability Centres could create stronger links between local talent and international companies, opening up opportunities for employment, professional development and advanced skills training.

The growth of such centres could also help young people access global career opportunities without having to leave the region, while supporting long-term economic development.

Government Assures Support to Investors

Omar Abdullah assured potential investors of the government’s full support in establishing and expanding Global Capability Centres in Jammu and Kashmir.

He highlighted the importance of single-window facilitation and an investor-friendly policy framework to make it easier for companies to set up operations in the region.

The government aims to encourage investment in technology-driven industries, strengthen the local employment market and build a sustainable ecosystem for knowledge-based businesses.

Summit Focuses on Technology and Employment

The summit provides a platform for industry leaders, policymakers and academic institutions to discuss how Jammu and Kashmir can attract global enterprises and develop its skilled workforce.

Global Capability Centres perform a range of business functions for international companies, including technology development, research, data analysis, finance and customer support.

Their expansion in Jammu and Kashmir could create new opportunities for graduates, strengthen links between educational institutions and industry, and support the region’s broader economic ambitions.

The summit also reflects efforts to position Jammu and Kashmir as a competitive destination for technology investment and skilled employment.
