She later revealed that she suffered years of domestic violence, humiliation, and neglect from her husband and in-laws. Even after becoming a mother, the abuse continued.

Turning Point in Life

At one stage, Savita felt completely hopeless. But the thought of her children gave her strength to keep going.

She decided to leave the abusive marriage with her two children and only ₹2,700 in hand.

Starting Again from Nothing

To support her family, she worked in a beauty parlour and later opened her own small salon.

She also started giving tuition classes to local children.

Despite long working hours and family responsibilities, Savita returned to studies and completed a degree in Public Administration from Barkatullah University.

Success in Civil Services

Savita then prepared for the Madhya Pradesh Public Service Commission exam.

At the age of 24, she cleared the exam in her first attempt and became a Chief Municipal Officer.

This was the beginning of her government career.

Rise to Senior Position

Over the years, she continued to rise through promotions.

She is now serving as Joint Director of Urban Administration for the Gwalior and Chambal divisions.

Many reports describe her as one of the first women to reach such a senior role in the department.
