Ibn Qayyim’s Guide to the Diseases of the Heart and the Traps of Satan
Ighāthat al-Lahfān min Maṣā’id al-Shayṭān (Deliverance for Those Afflicted by the Traps of Satan) is among the most substantial and intellectually ambitious works of Imam Shams al-Dīn Abū ʿAbd Allāh Muḥammad ibn Abī Bakr ibn Ayyūb, better known as Ibn Qayyim al-Jawziyyah (d. 751 AH/1350 CE). Although the title of the work suggests a particular
