The Department of Arabic at Baba Ghulam Shah Badshah University has marked an important academic milestone as the second batch of the Four-Year Undergraduate Programme (FYUP) in Arabic is set to graduate this academic session. Click Here To Follow Our WhatsApp Channel

The department has continued to play a leading role in Arabic teaching and research. It was the first department at the university to introduce the undergraduate course B.A. (Hons.) Arabic. In line with the National Education Policy (NEP) 2020, the department successfully launched the Four-Year Undergraduate Programme in 2022.

This year, nineteen students from the second FYUP B.A. Arabic batch will complete their studies.

Academic Event Held for Outgoing Students

To celebrate the achievements of the graduating students, the department organised a special academic event. All faculty members attended the programme and offered warm congratulations and best wishes for the students’ academic, professional and personal future.

Arabic Language Opens Career Opportunities

Dr. Shams Kamal Anjum addressed the gathering and spoke about the growing global importance of the Arabic language.

He said Arabic is an official language in many oil and gas rich countries, creating wide employment opportunities. He added that career prospects are not limited to Arab countries, as jobs are also available in India through Arab embassies, multinational companies and academic institutions.

He further noted that Arabic is taught in more than forty universities across India and offers teaching opportunities at university and higher secondary levels, especially in Jammu and Kashmir.

Vice-Chancellor Congratulates Students and Faculty

The Vice-Chancellor also shared appreciation and congratulated both students and faculty members on the occasion. He praised their dedication and contribution towards academic excellence.

Students Praise Department Support

The outgoing students expressed satisfaction with the quality of teaching and research in the department. They said the programme greatly improved their knowledge and skills in Arabic language and literature.

They also encouraged future students to study Arabic, saying those with genuine interest can build a rewarding career in the field.

The Department of Arabic at Baba Ghulam Shah Badshah University organised an awareness programme on Nasha Mukt Bharat Abhiyan as part of the nationwide campaign launched by the Government of India to end drug abuse and promote a healthy, disciplined, and addiction-free society.

Vice Chancellor Praises Initiative

Vice Chancellor Prof. Jawaid Iqbal said universities have an important role in building responsible and aware citizens.

He said programmes under Nasha Mukt Bharat Abhiyan are necessary for creating a healthy and addiction-free society. He appreciated the Department of Arabic for organising the event and encouraged students to become messengers of positive change in their communities.

The programme was held under the chairmanship of Dr. Shams Kamal Anjum.

In his remarks, he stressed the need for collective responsibility to protect society from the danger of drugs and asked students to follow positive and productive lifestyles.

Expert Lectures on Drug Prevention

On the occasion, Dr. Mohammad Azam and Dr. Manzar Alam delivered lectures on the major causes of drug addiction in India.

They also suggested practical steps through which people can protect themselves and others from substance abuse.

The speakers highlighted the importance of education, family guidance, and social awareness in stopping this growing social problem.

Students Take Pledge

Students from the Departments of Arabic, Persian, and Gojri Pahari actively took part in the programme.

They expressed their commitment to spreading awareness against drug abuse in society.

The event ended with a collective pledge to support the aims of Nasha Mukt Bharat Abhiyan and help build a healthy, responsible, and addiction-free society.
