Police Seize Property in Anti-Drug Operation in Shopian: Significant Step in Combatting Drug Trafficking
In a continued endeavor to eradicate the scourge of drugs from our society, the Shopian Police, under the astute supervision of SSP Shopian Ms. Tanushree-IPS, has made a significant stride by confiscating a property allegedly belonging to a prominent drug peddler.
The property in question is a two-story residential house, valued at Rs. 25 lakhs and spanning 1769.635 square feet. Situated on Shamilat Section 5 land, measuring 6.5 marlas (1769.63 sqft) falling under Survey No. 952/1 in Batapora village, District Shopian, it is purportedly owned by Mahjabeen Banoo, the wife of Farooq Ahmad Najar.
This operation, conducted under the provisions of sections 68-E and 68-F (1) of the NDPS Act of 1985, is directly linked to case FIR No.21/2024 U/S 8/20 of the NDPS Act registered at Police Station Shopian. According to authorities, the property was identified as having been unlawfully acquired through illicit trafficking in narcotic drugs and psychotropic substances.
