SKUAST-K Celebrates Graduation, Fresher’s Day,University inspiring Visionary Leaders Equipped to Face Global Challenges: Prof mNazir Ahmad Ganai Vice Chancellor

 The Faculty of Agriculture at SKUAST-Kashmir held a vibrant Graduation cum Fresher’s Day celebration on Friday, November 15, 2024, bringing together students, faculty and esteemed guests in a heartwarming celebration of academic achievement and cultural diversity. The event was a lively occasion that marked a significant milestone for the graduating class while welcoming the incoming batch of students, encapsulating the spirit of unity and camaraderie within the University community.

The celebration was a medley of joyful moments, cultural expressions, and heartfelt recognitions. Students and faculty alike participated in a series of engaging activities, including dynamic cultural performances, an eclectic mix of food stalls, and interactive fun zones. The event showcased the talents and creativity of the students, reflecting the diverse and inclusive environment that defines SKUAST-K.

One of the standout features of the celebration was the Arabic Calligraphy Exhibition, where students showcased their skills in this ancient and intricate art form. The beautifully crafted designs on display captivated attendees, offering a glimpse into the students’ deep appreciation for global cultures. This exhibition underscored the University’s commitment to nurturing creativity and cultural diversity as part of its holistic approach to education.

In addition to the calligraphy display, the event featured the popular Polaroid Insta-Frame Booths, where guests and graduates could take memorable photos with custom-designed frames. The booths became a fun and interactive attraction, providing everyone with the opportunity to capture the joyous moments of the day in a personal and meaningful way.

The food stalls at the event were another major highlight, offering an array of culinary delights from various national cuisines. These food stations not only satisfied guests’ appetites but also reflected the University’s diverse student body. The lively food court served as a melting pot of flavors, celebrating the multicultural spirit of the university and providing a fitting backdrop for the day’s festivities.

The event was graced by distinguished guests, including Vice Chancellor of SKUAST-K, Prof mNazir Ahmad Ganai, who delivered a heartfelt address to the graduates. "Our goal is to ensure that every student who walks out of this university is not merely a graduate, but an innovator with the skills, vision, and courage to lead in their respective fields, said Prof Ganai. He said that SKUAST-K is reimagining higher education as a transformative force, one that prepares students not just for academic success but for real-world challenges and opportunities. Prof Raihana H. Kanth, Dean of the Faculty of Agriculture, also expressed her pride and admiration for the graduates. “This is a day to celebrate not just the knowledge you  have gained, but the wonderful experiences and memories you have made during your time here. You have made us proud, and we know you will go on to do great things," she said, encouraging the graduates to carry forward the values of hard work, perseverance, and creativity they developed at the University,” he said.
