Mewar University addresses students’ concerns in High Court case, ensures support

Dr. Alok Misra, Vice Chancellor of Mewar University, Wednesday confirmed that the university administration has agreed to address a crucial request made by students regarding an upcoming court hearing.

The matter pertains to a case scheduled for December 4, 2024, before the  High Court of Rajasthan, which involves a contempt of court issue concerning the Rajasthan Government.

According to Dr. Misra, the students requested that the university file an application with the court to secure alternative remedies, in case the government fails to provide the required No Objection Certificate (NOC) to Mewar University.

This application could involve transferring affected students to other universities that accept students under the JKSSS Scheme of the Indian Army, should the court find it necessary.

The university has assured students that this measure would be pursued only if there is a governmental inability to provide the NOC. The university administration responded positively to this request, showcasing its commitment to the welfare of its students.

Following this assurance, students of the School of Nursing who had been protesting the issue called off their protest. They expressed appreciation for the humane and student-friendly approach taken by the university in addressing their concerns.

Representatives of the student body, including Faizan Akber, Aasrar-ul-Haq, Aaqib Bashir, Amir Ahmed, and Sahil Tantary, played a vital role in conveying student concerns to the administration. (KNS)
