Muslim Public High School Fire, “CRPF helped in timely evacuation” : Students

Students at Muslim Public High School in Kursoo Rajbagh area of Srinagar, which caught fire on Thursday, appreciated a nearby battalion reserve police force.

A class 10th student, Musadiq ,told Rising Kashmir that the fire erupted in boys building of Muslim Public High School.He said that they were in the school ground preparing for children’s day celebrations.He said that they saw plumes of smoke arising from the building.

“ Soon many personnel of CRPF rushed in and helped in evacuating students,” he said, adding that they also called fire and emergency department personnel for dousing the flames.

A parent informed that all the students have been safely evacuated.Till last reports efforts were on to douse the fire.Officials were ascertaining the cause of fire.

The fire has caused significant damage to the attic and the 3rd floor, students said, adding that the attic was turned into an auditorium.
