3 Militants killed in Akhnoor Jammu Encounter, Large cache of Arms Recovered: Army

 Security forces on Tuesday claimed that three  Militants were killed in an encounter in the Akhnoor area of Jammu following an attack on an Army vehicle in the Asaan, Battal region near the Line of Control. No injuries were reported in the initial ambush, an official stated.

A senior official said, the Army responded swiftly, launching a major search operation that ultimately led to the identification and confrontation of the  Militants. In the initial exchange of fire, one militant was killed, alongside an Army dog assisting in the operation.

The Army maintained round-the-clock surveillance throughout the night, resuming the operation this morning.By the end of the renewed engagement, two additional terrorists had been neutralized.

In a statement shared on social media, the Army highlighted the strategic importance of the operation, citing “relentless efforts and tactical expertise” as key factors in the successful outcome. The forces also recovered a major cache of arms and other “war-like stores,” which are seen as vital in reinforcing security across the Jammu  (KNS)
