Member of Parliament from Baramulla, Er Rashid, condemned the recent Gangangeer attack, which claimed seven lives, including a doctor.
Speaking to the press in Handwara on Tuesday, he stressed that violence will not lead to any meaningful solutions.“It shouldn’t have happened this way. We lost a valuable doctor, and many other human lives. We should respect human lives, whether it is a civilian, a common man, or anyone else,” Rashid said.
He made an appeal to all stakeholders, urging that violence is not the answer.“Violence cannot take us anywhere. I want to tell both local and non-local actors that we want to live in peace. All issues must be resolved at the table,” he added.
Rashid also criticized Omar Abdullah, stating that Abdullah campaigned against the revocation of Articles 370 and 35A and promised to restore the 1953 position. However, after winning the elections, the focus shifted merely to passing a resolution on statehood, which Rashid termed an injustice.
