Omar Abdullah Calls for Change: A Plea for Progress and Empowerment in Jammu and Kashmir
Jammu and Kashmir National Conference Vice President Omar Abdullah urged citizens to reflect on the state of their lives post-August 5, 2019. Speaking candidly, he emphasized the need for people to assess whether their daily existence had truly improved since then.
“If progress has eluded you, it’s time to ensure that the National Conference secures a resounding victory. If unemployment persists, if your children struggle to find work, if electricity remains erratic, if water and ration supplies falter, and if roads are still in disrepair, then it’s imperative to empower the National Conference with your vote,” he asserted.
Abdullah, the nominated candidate for the Baramulla Parliamentary Constituency, made these remarks as he launched his election campaign from Beerwah. Engaging in a whirlwind tour, he addressed numerous workers’ conventions, public gatherings, and rallies across 24 locations. His presence was warmly received, with enthusiastic participation from both the public and party members.
Accompanied by party officials including treasurer Shami Oberoi and political conciliator Mudassar Shahmiri, Abdullah underscored the halted progress in Beerwah since his tenure as MLA. He lamented the stagnation of essential projects, from water supply schemes to road construction, emphasizing the need to reignite development efforts.
Reflecting on the plight of unemployed youth and the threat to ancestral lands, Abdullah appealed for support in upcoming elections. “I ask for your vote after a decade, seeking the opportunity to resume working for your welfare. Where your struggles lie, there shall be my unwavering commitment,” he pledged.
In a rallying call, Abdullah urged citizens to safeguard their rights by ensuring the triumph of the National Conference in both parliamentary and future assembly elections. “Let us join forces to confront the challenges ahead and champion the cause of our people,” he concluded.
