Security forces launched an extensive manhunt on Sunday morning in response to a terrorist assault on an Indian Air Force convoy the previous day, resulting in the tragic loss of one personnel, as per officials.
The pursuit aimed to apprehend the perpetrators, with security personnel establishing checkpoints and conducting thorough inspections in the area.Additional Indian Army units swiftly arrived at Jarra Wali Gali (JWG) in Poonch late Saturday night to reinforce efforts.The incident unfolded in Sanai village, prompting immediate medical attention for the injured personnel who were swiftly transported to the Command Hospital in Udhampur. Regrettably, one individual succumbed to their injuries.
In the aftermath, the local Rashtriya Rifles unit, with support from the Army and police, launched cordon and search operations to locate the attackers.Confirming the incident via Twitter, the Indian Air Force assured the convoy’s security and stressed the ongoing investigation.”An Indian Air Force vehicle convoy was attacked by terrorists in the Poonch district,” officials stated.
Efforts have been made to secure the vehicles within the air base vicinity near Shahsitar. (ANI)
