A Chinese national who entered Ladakh and Jammu Kashmir in violation of his visa conditions has been deported to Hong Kong, officials said, according to multiple media reports on Thursday.According to officials cited by The Hindu, Hu Congtai, 29, who was detained in Srinagar last week, was flown to New Delhi on the evening of December 10 for onward deportation.Click Here To Follow Our WhatsApp Channel
Congtai had arrived in Delhi on November 19 on a tourist visa that allowed travel only to Buddhist sites in Varanasi, Agra, New Delhi, Jaipur, Sarnath, Gaya and Kushinagar. Instead, he took a flight to Leh on November 20 and failed to register at the Foreigners Regional Registration Office counter at Leh airport.He was taken into custody in Srinagar after landing there from Delhi on December 1.
