J&K Peoples Conference President and MLA Handwara Sajad Lone on Friday raised alarm over the ongoing JKAS age-relaxation matter has plunged aspirants into a “confusing and exhausting maze of official claims,” unfolding in a “typical Quixotic style” that has subjected candidates to “unprecedented miseries mired in ambiguities.”Click Here To Follow Our WhatsApp Channel
Lone said the saga has again been reduced to the movement of “the file.” The CM Office says it has sent the file to the LG Office, and the LG Office has apparently sent it back to approve the logistical costs, creating a circular bureaucratic impasse that offers no certainty to those preparing for a career-defining examination.
Lone said, “CM sahib to the best of my knowledge has not been a particularly meritorious student during his younger days. I am sure he would not know what it takes for a meritorious student to prepare for competitive exams.” He added the prevailing uncertainty around age relaxation is “unnerving and an impediment in exams preparations.”
Lone urged the Chief Minister to intervene and end the ambiguity. “Could CM sahib please for once issue a statement from the CM office and clear any ambiguities.”
Lone spelled out the factual context he says demands clarity: All India Open Merit average age limit is 38 years and in J & K it is 32 years. “Fail to understand if every single rule has been applied in J & K post 2019, why this rule has not been applied. My vote is for age relaxation.”
He closed with a pointed remark on administrative attribution, saying the episode has once again become “a story of whether ‘UTH’ did it or ‘TUTH’ did it,” even as aspirants remain caught in the limbo.
