Long queues of vehicles were seen outside filling stations. A petrol pump owner said the rush began soon after social media posts claimed the valley was facing a fuel shortage.
However, authorities dismissed the rumours, stating there is sufficient stock available. An official said the panic was triggered after a landslide at Ramban briefly disrupted supply, but the situation has been normalised.
People have been urged not to believe or spread misinformation. (KNS)
