Omar Abdullah to Launch Free Bus Service for Women in Srinagar Today

The Chief Minister of Jammu and Kashmir Omar Abdullah is set to launch a free bus service exclusively for women, with the official flag-off ceremony scheduled for April 1 at 2:30 PM at SKICC, Srinagar.
According to an official communication from the Chief Minister’s Office, the initiative aims to provide safe and accessible transportation for women across the region. The move is expected to benefit working women, students, and other commuters by easing their travel burdens.
The administration has instructed all concerned departments to ensure smooth coordination for the successful execution of the event. The launch is being supported by the Transport Department, Srinagar Municipal Corporation, and local law enforcement agencies.
This initiative aligns with the NC government’s efforts to promote women’s welfare and enhance public transport for women in J&K.
