During a recent appearance on a private TV show, veteran actress Rubina Ashraf congratulated Umar on his marriage and inquired about the unexpected nature of his Nikkah. Responding to her question, Umar revealed that both families were already in discussions regarding their wedding, but the decision to get married at Masjid-e-Nabawi was a deeply personal one.
A Heartfelt Decision
Umar shared that he had always dreamed of starting his married life in Masjid-e-Nabawi. When he expressed this desire to his now-wife, she became emotional and said it was also her long-cherished wish. This mutual sentiment strengthened their resolve to exchange vows in the holy city.
Arranging the Nikkah in Masjid-e-Nabawi
The actor recounted the challenges of getting married within the sacred premises, as strict regulations prohibit such ceremonies inside the Prophet’s Mosque. Upon seeking guidance from a friend, he learned that conducting a Nikkah in Masjid-e-Nabawi could lead to penalties or legal action against the officiating cleric. This left him momentarily worried about how to proceed.
However, fate intervened when a friend informed him about a scholar visiting from Riyadh, who upon hearing about Umar’s wish, volunteered to officiate the Nikkah. The couple and their families decided on an early morning 7 AM ceremony after Fajr prayers, ensuring that everything proceeded smoothly and peacefully.
A Blessed Gathering
Umar further shared that 21 close family members from both sides were able to attend the blessed event. His brother and sister-in-law traveled from Germany, while other relatives flew in from Pakistan to join the occasion. The intimate ceremony took place without any complications, making it a memorable and deeply spiritual experience for the newlyweds.
