The Jammu and Kashmir Film Festival, supported by J&K Tourism, marks a significant step in reviving the region’s rich cinematic legacy.Commissioner Secretary Tourism Yasha Mudgal stated that the festival showcases the best in global cinema and aims to reconnect the youth with the world of films.

Highlighting the impact of the J&K Film Policy, Mudgal said over 350 projects have been approved under the initiative, reigniting the region’s status as a favored filmmaking destination. “We want J&K to see a resurgence of film shoots similar to the golden era before the 1980s,” she said.

The festival features a diverse lineup of films in local and international languages, providing a platform for cultural exchange and artistic exploration.Through this event, we aim to connect the youth with cinema, inspiring them and creating opportunities in the film industry,” she added.

Mudgal highlighted the commitment of J&K Tourism to organize and support such events to boost the region’s cultural and economic landscape. “The J&K Tourism Department will always endeavor to promote such festivals and initiatives,” she affirmed. (KNS)
