The Islamic University of Science and Technology (IUST) marked the beginning of its annual Foundation Day celebrations with the inauguration of the eagerly awaited Book Fest, organised by the esteemed Rumi Library. The event, running from 7th to 13th November, is set to be a highlight for book lovers, students, and academic staff alike.
The inauguration was presided over by the distinguished Registrar of IUST, Prof Abdul Wahid Makhdoomi, who officially opened the festival in a ceremony graced by the presence of Prof Manzoor Ahmad Bhat, the university’s Librarian, along with the library staff, faculty members, and enthusiastic students. The occasion was marked by speeches emphasising the importance of literature and knowledge-sharing in the academic landscape.
Prof Makhdoomi, in his address, highlighted the significant role that libraries and book festivals play in promoting reading culture and lifelong learning among students.
