The Training and Placement Cell (TPC) at Baba Ghulam Shah Badshah University (BGSBU) has officially inaugurated a 100-hour employability training program on Data Analytics in collaboration with ICT Academy, funded by Infosys Foundation. It is a 17-day program from 4th to 20th November, 2024. This initiative, designed for final year B.Tech and MCA students, aims to enhance their industry-ready skills in data analytics, equipping them for a competitive job market.
The inaugural function began with a recitation of the Holy Quran. Dr. Malik Mubasher Hassan, Convener of the Training and Placement Cell, provided a comprehensive introduction to the program, outlining its objectives and the significance of data analytics in today’s digital landscape. Dr. Vishal Puri, Principal of the College of Engineering and Technology (CoET), highlighted the increasing importance of data analytics skills in a tech-driven world, while Dr. Aijaz Yousaf, Relation Manager of ICT Academy, presented an overview of ICT Academy’s initiatives aimed at bridging the gap between academia and industry. Dr. Prashant Mishra, the program’s trainer, also addressed the audience, emphasizing the practical and career-oriented aspects of the training.
Prof. Akbar Masood, Hon’ble Vice-Chancellor of BGSBU, expressed his encouragement and best wishes for the participants, acknowledging the value of such collaborative efforts in improving students’ employability. Sh. Shabaz Ahmad Mirza, Registrar of BGSBU, and Dr. A. A. Shah, Associate Dean, both conveyed their appreciation and support for the initiative, recognizing the vital role of data analytics skills in fostering student success. Apart from the participants, Dr. Rakesh Singh Sambyal (HoD ITE), Dr. Amit Dogra, Ms. Ankita Rounani, and Dr. Adil Ahmad Laway were also present on the occasion.
The event was expertly anchored by Mohammad Haider, a student of B.Tech ITE, adding a dynamic touch to the proceedings. This rigorous 100-hour training, blending theory with hands-on practice, stands as a valuable opportunity for students to gain relevant skills and confidence in data analytics, positioning them for success in a data-driven world.
