MLA Javed Murchal Holds Development Review Meeting with Key District Officers

Javed Mirchal, Member of the Legislative Assembly (MLA) from Karna, recently convened a meeting at the Mini Secretariat in Tangdar Karnah to review ongoing development projects within his constituency. The gathering brought together officers from various departments, including Health, Power Development Department (PDD), Roads & Buildings (R&B), Public Health Engineering (PHE), Food, and Social Welfare, who provided updates on departmental performance and highlighted key challenges.

Sub-Divisional Magistrate (SDM) Karnah, Zafar Ahmed Lone, informed the assembly about several development projects in progress across the constituency. Among the major projects discussed was the 12 MW power project, with Murchal urging officers to prioritize mission-oriented work to deliver essential services to the public.

The meeting also addressed the area’s current rice stock, revealing a reserve of 22,000 quintals, with efforts underway to increase supply. Additionally, discussions were held on maintaining access to Sadhana Top during winter and the possibility of restoring chopper services to ensure connectivity.

Javed Mirchal called on officers to expedite work on delayed projects, emphasizing timely completion. Senior officials present included SDM Karnah Zafar Ahmed Lone, Chief Education Officer Kupwara Abdul Hameed Dar, DDC Najma Hameed, Tehsildar Karnah Muhammad Amin, Zonal Education Officer Tangdar Chamkot Shah Muhammad Rana, SHO Karnah Muhammad Wasim, and BMO Karnah Farooq Ahmed Qureshi.

Speaking to kashmir News Service(KNS), Javed Mirchal described this as his first official review meeting since assuming office. He stressed the need for effective measures to ensure consistent ration supply at distribution centers and improve power availability in winter. Acknowledging the broader electricity challenges faced across Jammu and Kashmir, he reassured that the government is committed to providing a steady power supply and arranging winter chopper services for residents.(KNS)
