Two Drug Peddlers Arrested Near Fruit Mandi Sopore at Nowpora Byepass

Jammu and Kashmir Police on Thursday  have arrested two drug peddlers and recovered psychotropic substance from their possession in North Kashmir’s Sopore.

A Spokesperson said that a Police party of Police Post Fruit Mandi headed by IC PP Fruit Mandi during patrolling at Nowpora Byepass Road apprehended two persons in a suspicious condition. During search, officers were able to recover 540 banned tablets (Alprazolam) from their possession.

“Accordingly, a case vide FIR No. 223/2024 under relevant sections of law has been registered at Police Station Sopore & investigation has been initiated”, he said.

General Public is requested to cooperate with police in curbing the menace of drugs from the society. We reassure the community members that J&K Police will act tough against the criminals as per the law.
