Police Solve Burglary Case in Budgam, Arrest Two Suspects

On Tuesday, the Jammu and Kashmir Police resolved a burglary case in Budgam district, Central Kashmir, by arresting two suspects.

According to a police spokesperson, on June 23, 2024, Police Post Humhama received a complaint from Asrar Gul of LD Colony Sanat Nagar. Gul reported that on June 15, 2024, in preparation for Eid ul Azha, he had hired a woman for cleaning services. During her time at his residence, she allegedly stole some gold ornaments.

The spokesperson stated that a case was registered under FIR No 244/2024 in Police Station Budgam. During the investigation, the woman, identified as Ruby Begum, wife of Gh Hassan Khan from Gogipora Kanihama Nowgam, was brought in for questioning. She confessed to the theft, and some of the stolen gold items were recovered based on her disclosure. She also revealed that she had sold part of the stolen jewelry to a goldsmith named Parvaiz Ahmad Bhat, son of the late Gh Nabi Bhat, residing on Tailbal Road, Rashi Mohalla Shalimar, Srinagar.

Both suspects were arrested, and gold ornaments worth 4 lakh rupees were recovered. The investigation is ongoing, the spokesperson added.
