In a dramatic turn of events, Counter Intelligence Kashmir (CIK) has successfully intercepted a nefarious scheme aiming to bolster terrorist ranks in Budgam district. Reports reveal a meticulous operation executed by CIK operatives, leading to the apprehension of an individual poised to join the ranks of the dreaded Ansar Gazwat-Ul-Hind (AuGH) outfit.
According to a statement furnished to Kashmir News Observer (KNO) by CIK, intelligence was received indicating an imminent bid by AuGH to regroup and rejuvenate its presence in the Kashmir region. The document further disclosed the insidious role played by a Pakistan-based handler, identified as Hamzah alias Gazi, who was allegedly indoctrinating Kashmiri youths into embracing terrorism.
Further investigations exposed the clandestine activities of hybrid Over Ground Workers (OGWs), purportedly colluding with AuGH to orchestrate a recruitment drive in the Valley. Acting swiftly on the intelligence, CIK operatives zeroed in on Waseem Ahmad Sheikh, hailing from Beerwah, who was suspected of being in league with the terrorist handlers.
Preliminary interrogations uncovered Sheikh’s extensive virtual correspondence with the handlers, with plans afoot to forge a new terrorist faction. Shockingly, Sheikh had been tasked with luring more youth into the fold of terrorism, with promises of arms and ammunition from his handlers across the border.
Deeper probes revealed Sheikh’s involvement in multiple WhatsApp and Telegram groups affiliated with terrorist organizations, hinting at a broader network yet to be dismantled. CIK remains steadfast in its pursuit of justice, vowing to track down all accomplices and bring them to book.
