An official stated that the two VDG members, Nazir Ahmad and Kuldip Kumar, were kidnapped and killed by terrorists in a forest area of Kishtwar.

The bodies of the victims have not been recovered, and a search operation has been launched by security forces.

“We Strongly condemn the heinous killing of Village Defense Group members Nazir Ahmad & Kuldip Kumar by terrorists in Kishtwar.Our hearts go out to their families & loved ones,” the peoples Conference said in a post on X.

“JKNC President Dr Farooq Abdullah and VP & Chief Minister @OmarAbdullah have condemned the gruesome killing of two village defence guards in Kishtwar namely Nazir Ahmad and Kuldeep Kumar, in a forest area. They have said that such acts of barbaric violence remain a significant impediment in achieving long lasting peace in J&K. In this hour of grief, their thoughts and prayers are with the families of the deceased,” the JKNC said in a post on X.(KNS).
