Central members of the People’s Civil Society Urges Elected Leaders to Address Key Issues

The Central members of the People’s Civil Society held a significant meeting in Srinagar, and discussed on the recent assembly elections in Jammu and Kashmir. Members of the Society extended warm appreciation to the people of Jammu and Kashmir for their vibrant participation in the democratic process, which saw a strong voter turnout across the region. This participation, actively encouraged through Civil Society appeals, underscores a renewed commitment to democratic values in the region.

The People’s Civil Society emphasized that people of Jammu and Kashmir sent a powerful message, reaffirming the faith that the people of Jammu and Kashmir hold in democracy. Regardless of the final electoral outcome, the high level of public engagement exemplifies a profound and growing dedication to the democratic process, particularly in the Kashmir Valley. “This election was about citizens embracing their responsibility to shape their future peacefully, through democratic means,” said a spokesperson from the Society.

The participation of people of Jammu and Kashmir in large number is a massage to the whole world that the people have reposed confidence in the democratic process and is an eye opener for the devisve forces who spread negativity regarding out come of the participation of the people in large numbers.There can be no other meaning given to the people reposing the confidence in democratic process and system. 

The meeting also noted the substantial mandate given to the National Conference, signaling the public’s trust in their leadership to address pressing issues such as statehood restoration, employment opportunities, and development. These are crucial areas of concern, and the Society encourages the elected representatives to come to the expectation of the people of Jammu and Kashmir 

The People’s Civil Society commends the people of Jammu and Kashmir for their unwavering belief in democracy and looks forward to a future shaped by peace, development, and trust.
