Key Suspect Arrested for Aiding Terrorists in Deadly Reasi Pilgrim Bus Attack

In a major breakthrough, police have arrested an Over Ground Worker (OGW) suspected of aiding terrorists in the June 9 attack on a bus carrying pilgrims in Jammu’s Reasi district. The assault resulted in nine deaths and 33 injuries.

The OGW, identified as Hakamdeen from Rajouri, was detained in Reasi. SSP Reasi, Mohita Sharma, revealed during a press conference that Hakamdeen provided shelter, food, and logistical support to the terrorists, including guiding them to the attack site.

On June 9, terrorists fired on the bus, causing it to veer off into a gorge. Hakamdeen admitted to being at the scene and hearing gunshots. He then helped the terrorists escape. Investigations showed the terrorists had stayed at his home the night before, and he was paid Rs 6,000 for his assistance.

Approximately 150 individuals have been detained in connection with the Reasi terror attack. SSP Sharma stressed that the investigation is ongoing and vowed, “We will not stop until the terrorists are either arrested or neutralized.”
