DC Bandipora Felicitates Sabqat Malik for Silver Medal at Asian Jiu Jitsu Championship
The Deputy Commissioner (DC) of Bandipora, Shakeel Ul Rehman, felicitated Sabqat Malik of Bandipora on Tuesday for winning a silver medal at the youth Asian Jiu Jitsu Championship held in Abu Dhabi.
Sabqat Malik, a 20-year-old fitness enthusiast from Bandipora, secured the silver medal, making her the first girl from Jammu and Kashmir to become a two-time Asian Jiu Jitsu champion.
The DC praised her for becoming a role model for other girls and encouraged her to continue pursuing her goals with consistency, dedication, and wholeheartedness. He highlighted the importance of engaging youth in fitness activities to help them avoid the dangers of drug addiction.
The DC reiterated the district administration’s commitment to promoting a culture of sports and fitness, urging youth to participate in extracurricular activities. He also affirmed his dedication to improving sports facilities in the district to enhance the overall health and well-being of the community.
Sabqat’s coach, Muzaffar Ahmad, expressed his pride in her achievement, stating, “Sabqat has brought us great pride, and the entire nation is supporting her.”
