Farooq Abdullah Expresses Doubt Over Jammu and Kashmir Assembly Elections Under BJP Rule

Former Chief Minister and President of the National Conference, Dr. Farooq Abdullah, voiced skepticism regarding the possibility of assembly elections in Jammu and Kashmir if the BJP were to return to power.

Speaking to reporters at Nawa-e-Subh Srinagar, Dr. Farooq stated, “I don’t know whether assembly elections in Jammu and Kashmir will happen or not. Though the Supreme Court had set a date for holding elections in JK, but I am disappointed with the designs of BJP, who if voted to power once again will violate the directions of the apex court.”

Expressing concern, Dr. Farooq likened Prime Minister Modi’s intentions to those of Vladimir Putin in Russia, suggesting a desire to cling to power indefinitely.

Addressing political figures Ghulam Nabi Azad, Sajad Gani Lone, and Altaf Bukhari, Dr. Farooq urged introspection regarding their alliances, cautioning against supporting entities with anti-Muslim sentiments. He extended prayers for their guidance.

Commenting on the issue of unscheduled power cuts in the valley, the NC president warned of potential exacerbation if the crisis persists under the current administration, foreseeing increased chaos in the region.
