Bandipora Youth Volunteers’ Compassionate Initiative: Distributing 4000 Iftar Kits During Ramadhan

In a heartening initiative, the Bandipora Youth Volunteers have reached out to patients and caregivers at the District Hospital Bandipora, distributing over 4000 Iftar kits. This noble endeavor kicked off on the 8th of Ramadhan, with more than a dozen enthusiastic young volunteers uniting to serve Iftari at DH Bandipora. Elahi Mohsin, overseeing the operations, shared with Rising Kashmir that the team prepares 200 kits daily, with the help of about twelve volunteers.

The inspiration for this thoughtful gesture sprang from a volunteer’s observation of the absence of Iftar arrangements at the hospital one evening. Witnessing patients and their families struggling to break their fast touched a chord, prompting the decision to step in and make a difference.

Mohsin emphasized that the initiative operated without cash contributions, with donations sought in the form of items suitable for breaking fast. The volunteers even funded the meals served on the eve of Shab e Qadr from their own pockets.

Attendees receiving the Iftar kits expressed heartfelt gratitude towards the Youth Volunteers. One attendee, preferring anonymity, shared how these kits are a lifeline, especially when away from home during Ramadhan.

Mohsin affirmed that the heartwarming initiative would continue until the final day of Ramadhan, ensuring the spirit of compassion prevails throughout the holy month.

Mudasir Ahmad, managing the contributions, extended gratitude to the residents of Bandipora for their generosity, highlighting their essential role in the initiative’s success. He emphasized that collective efforts, no matter how small, have made a significant impact on the lives of others.
