The recent developments in the implementation of the Pradhan Mantri Awaas Yojana-Gramin (PMAY-G) in Jammu and Kashmir reflect a commendable commitment from the administration to provide housing support to vulnerable families in rural areas.

With the release of a significant amount of Rs 272.55 crore, including the central share of Rs 245.30 crore, and the proactive disbursement of Rs. 200 crore among PMAY-G beneficiaries in the last 10 days, the administration is making tangible progress towards fulfilling the Prime Minister’s vision of Housing for All.

The efforts to expedite the construction process, with a record number of houses completed in the past year and many more nearing completion, showcase a dedicated approach to meeting targets and ensuring the timely provision of housing to those in need.

Additionally, initiatives such as the allocation of land to land-deprived families and the commitment to providing additional assistance further demonstrate a comprehensive approach to addressing the housing needs of the rural poor.

The leadership and effective mobilization of resources by Dr. Shahid Iqbal Choudhry, Secretary Rural Development Department and Panchayati Raj, are instrumental in driving these efforts forward and ensuring that the objectives of the scheme are met promptly and efficiently.
