Rajouri District Declares Badhal Area Containment Zone Amid Rising Death Toll, Prohibits Gatherings

The Rajouri district administration has declared the Badhal area a containment zone following the tragic deaths of 17 individuals, impacting three families. A directive from the District Magistrate outlines that all meals for families within the zone will be monitored by designated officials. The Special Investigation Team (SIT) is investigating the incident on-site.
The order categorizes affected families into three containment zones. “Containment Zone 1” includes households where deaths occurred, with their homes sealed and access restricted. “Containment Zone 2” involves families with close contacts of the deceased, who must be relocated to GMC Rajouri for health monitoring. All households in Badhal Village are placed in “Containment Zone 3,” where food consumption will be strictly monitored.
To enforce the measures, police personnel will oversee food distribution and a logbook will be maintained, documenting food distribution and consumption, signed three times daily by monitoring officers. All public and private gatherings in the containment zones are prohibited to prevent further spread of infection. Monitoring of food provisions will be closely supervised by officials to ensure accountability. (KNO)
