Petrol Pump in Anantnag Booked for Delivering Deficit Fuel to Consumers

The Enforcement unit of Legal Metrology Anantnag conducted a surprise inspection of a petrol pump located on the National Highway in Anantnag and found that one of the nozzles was delivering 30 ml short per 5 litres. This discrepancy led to the seizure of the nozzle and the initiation of prosecution under the Legal Metrology Act.

Consumers are reminded that the accuracy of fuel delivery is their basic right, and they can check fuel quantities using the 5-litre conical measure provided at petrol pumps. The swift action was appreciated by the local consumers, who were also informed about their rights.
