Labourer Mohd Jamal Mir Dies After Water Tank Falls on Him in Srinagar

A labourer died on Wednesday after a water tank fell on him in the Wanabal Nowgam area of Srinagar, officials said.

An official told that the labourer sustained critical injuries after a 1000-litre water tank fell on him in the Nowgam area.He said the water tank was being shifted when it fell and the man came under it, sustaining critical injuries.

He said the injured was shifted to the nearest hospital, where doctors declared him dead on arrival. His body has been shifted to SMHS Hospital for medico-legal formalities.

He has been identified as Mohd Jamal Mir son of Ab Samad of Handwara, who was reportedly working at the site when the incident occurred. Police have taken cognisance of the incident—(KNO)
