The Department of Mechanical Engineering, Islamic University of Science and Technology (IUST), Awantipora, organized a one-day outreach program for students and faculty from Government Polytechnic College (GPC), Kulgam.

The visit highlighted IUST’s cutting-edge facilities and its commitment to fostering innovation in engineering education. Students explored advanced labs, including the Robotics and Automation Lab, and witnessed live demonstrations of 3D printing and CNC machining processes, showcasing the university’s emphasis on precision engineering and modern technology.

Er. Altaf Gohar, Principal, GPC Kulgam, praised IUST as a hub of excellence and urged polytechnic colleges in the valley to explore collaborative opportunities with the university. A dedicated session on career opportunities in Mechanical Engineering was conducted, along with an introduction to the Mars Rover project, an inspiring initiative by IUST students.
