Police Conducts Searches at Residential Houses of Four OGWs in Mandir Area of Poonch Jammu
Police on Thursday said that it carried Searches at the residential houses of four Over Ground Workers, who as per police were involved in Anti-National activities in Poonch district.
In a handout to GNS, the police said that on a significant development aimed at curbing anti-national activities, Police Poonch conducted searches at the residences of four Over Ground Workers (OGWs) namely Mohd Nasar @ Jigger S/O Mohd Rafiq R/O Sakhimadan A/P Balnoi Tehsil Mendhar, Mehmood Hussian S/o Talib Hussian R/O Dehri Dabsi A/P Kotan Tehsil Mendhar, Mohd Khalid S/O Said Mohd R/O Dharana Tehsil Mendhar and Abdul Aziz S/o Mohd Bashir R/o Village Bhatidhar Tehsil Mendhar District Poonch, suspected to be involved in various cases FIRs at Police Station Mendhar.
According to police spokesman, the operation, carried out in the early hours of the day. Acting on credible intelligence inputs, the search operations were meticulously planned to gather evidence and disrupt activities that pose a threat to peace and stability in the region.
The individuals whose houses were searched are believed to have been providing logistical support, shelter, and other assistance to terrorist in the area, he said.
Senior officials overseeing the operation have emphasized their commitment to rooting out all elements involved in anti-national activities and ensuring the safety of civilians. The operation marks another step in the ongoing efforts to dismantle the terror ecosystem in the region, he said.
The Jammu and Kashmir Police Poonch have appealed to the public to cooperate with law enforcement agencies and share any information that can aid in the fight against terrorism, reads the statement.(GNS)
