Kashmir Welfare Trust Provides Aid to Rainawari Fire Victims: Manzoor Wangnoo Chairman of Kashmir Welfare Trust

The government and non-governmental organizations have come together to provide relief to families affected by the recent fire in Rainawari, Srinagar.

Manzoor Wangnoo, Chairman of Kashmir Welfare Trust, announced that the organization distributed essential items such as blankets and food to the victims.

Wangnoo commended the swift response from various quarters, including MLA Zadibal, who provided timely support to the affected families, and the district administration for effectively coordinating relief efforts.

He also acknowledged the role of the Advisor to the Chief Minister and the Minister of FCSCA in ensuring a structured and responsive approach to the crisis.

The government has assured permanent rehabilitation for families displaced by the fire. Measures include providing ex-gratia relief, ensuring temporary accommodations until homes are repaired, and addressing gaps in emergency response services. Officials confirmed that a probe would be conducted into reports of delayed fire tender responses, with steps to improve access for emergency services in similar situations.

The combined efforts of government agencies, NGOs, and community leaders are focused on addressing both the immediate needs and long-term rehabilitation of those impacted by the fire.(KNS).
