On the inaugural day of the Jammu & Kashmir Assembly session, prominent political leader Sajad Lone reiterated his commitment to the restoration of Article 370.He emphasized that the matter remains an open chapter for discussion and political action.
Speaking passionately, Lone expressed support for Article 370, pledging his alignment with any move that seeks to restore the region’s unique constitutional privileges.
He underscored that his support for the abrogation’s reversal as sought by PDP MLA Waheed Parra is not merely a political statement but a firm commitment, saying, “Wherever the 370 resolution stands, we will support it. This book is not closed,” he told KNS in an exclusive chat.
Lone also addressed comments from National Conference leader Omar Abdullah on the Waheed Parra’s move.. “It was 5 versus 85,” acknowledging the substantial opposition but urging unity on the matter.
He added that all the public representatives have right to raise their voice and different opinions should be respected.In his address, Lone also criticized the government’s unfulfilled promise to prioritize Article 370 in the Governor’s address, which he noted was missing from the speech.
Referring to a campaign promise, he asserted that discussions on the issue should not be postponed, expressing disappointment in the lack of official recognition in the session’s initial agenda.
“When it was in the agenda of the Parties during Assembly. Why it is missing now from their actions,” he said.He chided Chief Minister Omar Abdullah for meeting with BJP National Leadership without anything return for people of J&K.
