An encounter erupted between terrorists and security forces in the Uri sector along the Line of Control (LoC) in north Kashmir’s Baramulla district, officials reported on Saturday evening.
The gunfight commenced when security forces initiated a search operation in the Bajrang-Uri sector after receiving specific intelligence about the presence of infiltrating terrorists, according to officials.
They stated that the concealed terrorists opened fire on the security personnel, who retaliated, resulting in a gunfight.
Meanwhile, the Army’s Chinar Corps posted on ‘X’: “Based on specific intelligence inputs, an anti-infiltration operation was launched in the Uri Sector. Contact was established with infiltrating terrorists and operations are ongoing.”
Previously, on June 19, two Lashkar-e-Taiba terrorists were killed, and two security personnel were injured during an encounter in the Rafiabad area of Baramulla district. Additionally, on June 17, a local terrorist was killed in an encounter with security forces in Aragam Bandipora.
