In a swift response, the J&K Police Cyber Cell Kupwara successfully resolved an online financial fraud case on Thursday, recovering Rs 96,606. The complainant had reported receiving a fraudulent call regarding credit card activation, which led to an unauthorized debit of Rs 96,606 after following the scammer’s instructions.
Upon receiving the complaint, Cyber Cell Kupwara quickly gathered evidence and information from the victim. Using advanced cybercrime investigation techniques, the team solved the case within 24 hours.
J&K Police advises the public to remain vigilant against online fraud. They emphasize avoiding suspicious links, not installing unauthorized apps, and being cautious with personal information shared online.
