Baramulla Police Arrest Two Drug Peddlers, Seize Contraband and Cash
In a relentless effort to combat the proliferation of drugs in society, the Baramulla Police have made significant strides by apprehending two individuals involved in drug peddling in the region. The operation led to the confiscation of contraband substances and cash from the suspects’ possession.
According to a spokesperson from the police department, the breakthrough came when a team from the Police Station Kreeri, headed by the Station House Officer (SHO), established a checkpoint at Kreeri in Baramulla. During routine inspection, they intercepted two individuals and proceeded to search them.
The search yielded a significant discovery, with the officers uncovering 35 grams of contraband substances resembling Charas, along with a sum of 5,000 rupees in cash, from the possession of the suspects. The arrested individuals were identified as Suhail Ahmad Bhat, son of Hilal Ahmad, a resident of Vizer Wagoora, and Mohd Ashraf Khan, son of Mohd Yousuf, hailing from Frasthar.
Subsequently, both suspects were taken into custody and transported to the Police Station Kreeri, where they were detained for further questioning and legal proceedings.
The police have initiated a thorough investigation into the matter, registering a case under relevant sections of the law at the Police Station Kreeri.
