Baramulla Court Declares Terror Handler Hassan Reshi a Proclaimed Offender, Issues Proclamation Orders
On Saturday, Hassan Reshi, a known terror handler, was officially declared a proclaimed offender in Baramulla following an application submitted by the Baramulla Police. This declaration was made by the Court of the First Additional Sessions Judge, Baramulla, under the EMICO Act.
The police report stated, “Today, the Court of 1st Addl. Sessions Judge Baramulla declared a terror handler, namely Gh Hassan Reshi, son of Assadullah Reshi, resident of Baderkoot, involved in case FIR no: 4/2008 u/sec 2/3 EMICO Act, 120B, 121 of PS Tangmarg, on the application moved by Baramulla Police.”Hassan Reshi is currently in Pakistan-occupied Jammu and Kashmir (PoJK) and is associated with a terrorist group.
The court has issued proclamation orders under Section 87 of the Criminal Procedure Code (CrPC) against Reshi. These orders have been displayed at his residence and in public places, with the court directing him to appear before the court within a month. If he fails to comply, the process to attach his property under Section 88 CrPC will begin.
Previously, on May 28, the Jammu and Kashmir Police had attached properties belonging to two other terror handlers in Baramulla. The attached properties, which include 3 Kanals and 19 Marlas of land valued at several lakhs, belong to Jalal Din, son of Raj Mohd, from Zamboor Pattan, and Mohd Saki, son of Mastana Bhatti, from Kamalkote Uri. Both individuals are currently based in Pakistan.
This action was taken under Section 83 of the Criminal Procedure Code in connection with a case involving Sections 7 and 25 of the Indian Arms Act and Section 4(III) of the TADA Act.
